Project Description

International Internet Travel Company required a relocation partner to support the internal move of staff, IT equipment and their furniture. The move involved relocating 80 staff, desktop IT and servers, marketing materials, and all existing, task chairs and pedestals. Renovo put together a proposal for the works along carrying out the disconnect and reconnect of the IT equipment.  Our team attended a planning meeting to ensure that all preparations and planning was in place for the move and to offer advice to the client team. At this planning meeting we agreed on the final schedule, which included for the staff finishing earlier on the Friday afternoon. Renovo altered our plan around this and carried out the disconnect of the IT earlier. The IT was disconnected and prepared on the Friday evening, with the main relocation taking place on the same evening. This ensured that downtime to the business was kept to an absolute minimum.

Services Provided

Renovo were appointed to carry out the relocation and in doing so, agreed a program for the relocation which included timely provision of packing crates and labels for all staff to pack up ready for the move.

The Renovo team were briefed on the requirements of the move. All items needed to be safely handled and dismantled in order to move them, and then re- installed in the new positions as per the new seating layout.

All the desktop IT equipment was disconnected by Renovo, carefully relocated and then delivered onto the destination desks. The Renovo team then re- connected the IT on the new desks.

Challenges Overcome

Due to the client moving all of their existing desk top kits, it was important for the IT disconnection, moving, placement and final re- connection to be completed and tested Friday evening ready for weekend staff.

As part of the re- connect of the IT onto the desks, our engineers spent time ensuring that each desk was cable managed to ensure that all the wires were tidy and safe under the desks.
