Nutanix required a relocation partner to support the move of staff, IT equipment and selected furniture from their existing location in Reading to a new space on the same business park. As both the existing and new spaces are part of a Regus serviced office space, this meant that Nutanix did not need to relocate the desks, task chairs and storage cabinets. They did however need to move approximately 60 staff, desktop IT and servers, marketing materials, and some items of their own furniture. Renovo put together a proposal for the works which was accepted by Nutanix. Our team attended a planning meeting to ensure that all preparations and planning was in place for the move and to offer advice to the client team. The move was carried out on a Friday afternoon and completed on Saturday to ensure that downtime to the business was kept to an absolute minimum.
Renovo were appointed to carry out the relocation and in doing so, agreed a program for the relocation which included timely provision of packing crates and labels for Nutanix’ staff to pack up ready for the move.
The Renovo team were briefed on the requirements of the move. These items needed to be safely handled and dismantled in order to move them, and then re- installed in the new building as per the new layout.
All the desktop IT equipment was disconnected by Renovo, carefully packed into purpose made crates, moved over and then delivered onto the destination desks. The Renovo team then re- connected the IT on the new desks.
It was important for there to be zero downtime for the staff as a result of the move. In order to achieve this the move was programmed around a company conference which allowed for all systems to be checked and in place for when the client teams returned in their new location.
Renovo also provided a porterage support service on the first day in the new office to help staff with unpacking and settling in as quickly as possible.
