Project Description

Showcase Interiors instructed Renovo to carry out a site audit for their client, Pearsons, to assist them in what furniture from their current London estate could be re-used, as part of the refurbishment and new furniture scheme for their offices at 80 Strand.

As a result of the audit, Showcase identified that a large number of workstations and operator chairs could be reused, if they were retopped and the chairs were refurbished.

Due to the fit out programme starting it was vital that all these products were removed from site, and placed into storage until they were needed again for the new scheme.

Renovo were asked to manage this element of the works by Showcase.

Services Provided

Renovo were appointed to carry out the dismantling and removal of desks, chairs, and also prepared for transport by others the existing Humanscale monitor arms.

Challenges Overcome

As these works took place during the lockdown, it was imperative that the operatives adhered to social distancing, wore appropriate PPE, and held an on- site register for daily temperature checks.

Pearsons had also instructed two other companies to deal with the move of staff, and the remaining furniture for disposal, so it was important that all activities were co- ordinated to ensure that the programme for the works was not delayed by access constraints and overlap of resource.

This was a challenging project, that needed to be re- programmed and re- worked in order to adapt to the restrictions around the COVID-19 pandemic. I know that working with the client to achieve a successful outcome, was particularly rewarding.

Testimonial

The clients team were really pleased that they were able to complete the project on time, particularly bearing in mind the number of contractors working in the spaces, and the short mobilisation period involved.
