The University of Essex, Stem Building, Colchester Essex
University of Essex had requested a number of options to furnish the Stem building with new furniture and equipment. Following the tender for the furniture and agreeing final options, Showcase Interiors were appointed to procure the furniture. Showcase Interiors then appointed Renovo Services to carry out the management, co- ordination, logistics and installation of the various products to successfully fulfil this project.
Renovo were appointed to carry out the management of 9 separate suppliers for these works. A large volume of the product was delivered to our storage site where we checked and collated the product for delivery and installation. Some of the suppliers also delivered direct to site. Our project manager liaised with University of Essex and their building contractor to ensure they had site of all Health and Safety, induction and training information for our staff.
The delivery and installation took place over 2 consecutive days, with all items delivered, assembled, installed and checked off against delivery notes and plans. The team then removed all equipment and packaging from the site to ensure that the areas were left clean and tidy.
The planned delivery had to be postponed due to access constraints on site, so the items already with Renovo had to remain in store and those items going direct to site had to be diverted into our storage until a new program had been agreed.
