Renovo FAQ

We understand furniture installation, IT decommissioning, storage and removals can be a confusing and stressful time. We pride ourselves on taking the stress away from our clients – using our experienced Project Managers we can handle every possible situation.

Please see below questions our experts are frequently asked by our clients, to help you with your project planning.

Installation

How long will the install job take?
We are often asked by our clients, how long the project will take. We need to do a full site assessment and compose a programme of works before we can answer that. After this stage we can predict with accuracy the exact length of time a project will take.

If you are trying to estimate your own project, contact us today for some expert advice – we would be happy to conduce a site assessment for you.

What labour will be required on site?
We organise all of the labour requirements, again a full site assessment will need to be conducted before a programme of works is composed – from there we can present you with a full schedule of what labour will be on site and when.

What sort of site access do we need for furniture deliveries?
We have worked on some very restricted sites, in Central London – therefore we are experienced at advising our clients the best time of day to receive deliveries. We will work with you to devise the best schedule.

Can we still remain working whilst the refurbishment/furniture installation is taking place?
Where office space allows we will produce a programme of works with you that will allow furniture installations to be completed in phases to allow employees to work in other areas of the building whilst work continues elsewhere.

Who will manage booking parking permits with the local council for the delivery vehicles?
As part of our turnkey service, we organise every possible aspect of a furniture installation project; our operations team will organise all permits in advance.

If a main contractor is involved are you happy to liaise with them?
Yes, most of our work is for main contractors and we will ensure we are involved in the relevant meetings and will liaise directly with them.

Removals

How many crates do I need for my document filing?
We can do a review of your filing and advise how many crates and storage area will be needed.

Can you also remove IT equipment or do we need a specialist for that?
We have the expertise in-house to manage IT removals and re-installs.

What vehicle size is required for the removals?
We will survey all items that are required to be moved and calculate what size of vehicle is required.

What about packing materials?
All packing materials can be supplied and this will be detailed on your initial quote.

Storage

What sort of storage do you offer?
Our warehouses will accept items stored in crates and pallets.

Do you offer a collection service?
Yes

Do you take deliveries?
Yes

Do you insure the goods under your own insurance?
Yes

How is storage billed?
Weekly, per pallet or crate.

Refurbishment

Can any item of furniture be refurbished?

Yes. We work with a lot of the major furniture suppliers, therefore we can source replacements parts. For mass faults we can work with you to re-design a component part to correct that fault.

We recently helped Goldman Sach’s London Office by refurbishing 4 floors of manager suites – this including French polishing desks, bookcases and side boards. We completed this on-site in 4 weeks, using a low odour, non-oil-based polish.

Recycling

If we have a charity in mind that we would like to send our furniture to, can you help with this?

Yes of course, we are happy to work on a consultant basis and liaise with the charity you had in mind. It might not always be possible for them to take the furniture but we can work with them to achieve the best solution for everyone.

Re-sale

I can’t possibly see why anyone would want our old furniture – can every item always be re-sold?

Obviously there are limitations especially if the furniture is badly damaged or a less sought after style. Therefore we can discuss recycling the items component parts – where possible making money on the metal parts.
